"Loved this place especially the fireplace auto turn on and off. Our room was so nice and comfortable. Location was perfect and dinner recommendations from hotel was perfect for our anniversary! Breakfast was great too it was included but the lady serving in breakfast nook need to relax a little! "

"We’re doing a two-week road trip of California and this has to be the worst place we’ve stayed in. Although the rooms are perfectly fine in terms of cleanliness and comfort, the walls are paper thin and you can hear everything from the rooms next to you to the outside noise. We were very unfortunate that our neighbours were extremely noisy and loved slamming their doors every time they entered or left their room which meant that I barely slept. Parking was also a bit of a nightmare as they only have about 10 parking spots for guests which meant having to park up steep side roads if there wasn’t a space left. Breakfast was also a sad display with barely anything edible on offer and the person on the front desk was miserable. Overall, I doubt I would come back here if I were to visit Carmel again, other than for the location/price which was unbeatable. "

"I checked-in online that morning like it suggested and my room was still not ready by check in time. The room was dirty, someone's shoes were left in a closet. Hair on the bathroom sink. The bed was comfortable, at least. That and the fact that it was quiet were the only good things about this place. "

"Wife and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary. We had an experience where someone entered our room and went through our bags and swapped a nice corkscrew that we brought from home with a crappy plastic one. The staff claim they checked the cameras and nobody but us entered the room. Very suspicious this item we have never seen or own happen to show up in my bag and our wood handled corkscrew is gone? Then when I went to go check if anyone had been in our room, me and another guest were waiting at the front desk for quite some time. We knocked on the door, yelled to the back and nothing.. finally the guy showed up and was waiting tables at the restaurant. He opened the side door and there was someone in the back sitting on her phone! Totally ignoring us in the front the whole time! Not real happy about getting either lied to or gaslit when I am 100% sure what transpired."
