"Beautifully appointed and designed room, excellent location a few feet from major attraction, great breakfast and selection of food items and a very friendly and helpful staff. "
"Amazing place! Staff is extremely friendly, Andrea and Lucia are super nice and attentive. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with my eyes closed."
"Basti citare, oltre a tutto il resto, alcuni particolari: colazione superlativa, kit con dentifricio, spazzolini, pantofole da camera, accappatoio, kit da cucito... il meglio del neglio."
"Beautiful hotel in the perfect location if you want to be right in the Sassi di Matera. Great restaurants and shops nearby, staff were all very friendly. "
"If you’re looking for a truly unique and memorable experience. I highly recommend staying at Casale di Maria in Matera. Domenica goes above and beyond with her attentive and welcoming service. She offers great tips on getting around town, where to go, and the best restaurants to try. It was an unforgettable stay - unlike any other hotel I’ve visited."
"Definitely one of the best places we have ever been, hosted by Beatrice, this family owned hotel is wonderful and the service is outstanding, dont miss the Breakfast, is just amazing."

One of the best places i have been. Great food. Jaw dropping views. If you have an ambulatory handicap, however, go somewhere else. You will fall here. Uneven paving stones. Slippery rocks. Walkways and stairs are tilted down, no hand rails.

There are so many hidden gems in the Sassi. The hike to the caves is difficult, but if you can physically do it, it is a rewarding experience. Very friendly people and the food was terrific.

Most different from over 15 cities we have stayed in in Italy. Worth going to for its uniqueness alone.

Driving to Matera please be wary of the LImited Traffic Zone which is severely enforced. It is impossible to drive to the hotel! One has to go to the parking garage suggested by the hotel, but beware it is NOT a suggestion! Stiff fines if you drive

Matera is enchanting. A beautiful town to visit where you are taken back to experience how people lived there centuries ago up until the mid 1950's. It is a vibrant historical town

Aside it being showcased in a James Bond film (No Time to Die), the city is steeped in history and culture that is almost overwhelming in the best possible way.

One of the most unique places I've been. A little out of the way to get to but totally worth it.
"The location of this property is amazing with a shared terrace with a stunning view, the room was cozy and clean, the staff is welcoming, great breakfast and the termae on the premises is a big plus to unwind and detoxify."
"Beautiful property in the heart of an amazing city. Staff were very helpful and friendly. They made a delicious birthday cake for our son and we had a great evening in the restaurant with excellent food and service. One of our rooms did however smell of damp and the door didn’t lock properly, it is a cave but none of the other rooms were like this, it wasn’t pleasant but they happily moved us to another one. Small details could be improved, bathrobes worn thin and room service trays left in the rooms and only collected when repeatedly asked. Otherwise a gorgeous hotel and a lovely stay. "
"The total experience was excellent. We were in Room 12 and the view was worth every penny. The staff were very nice and helpful. The coffee and breakfast in the morning were excellent. You must stay here!"
"Truly fantastic boutique hotel! Such an amazing find! Highly recommended.
Parking is free and easy to find. The hotel picks you up and takes you into the city.
The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. On the day of our departure we needed to leave very early and they had a full breakfast ready for us and gave us a ride back to our car with no problem at all.
The location at the edge of the cliff is absolutely stunning and the views are unparalleled.
The rooms themselves are unique and very well appointed. The bathroom in our room needs to be repainted and the loft where the kids slept got very hot. But other than that we can't find a single fault with this lovely spot in a beautiful city!

"This is one of the coolest places I’ve ever stayed. If you have difficulty with stairs, you may want to look elsewhere, but if no mobility issues, you must stay here! It’s incredible!"
