Basiliani Hotel is truly a fantastic boutique gem! The location is perfect — close to everything yet peaceful enough to fully relax and soak in the atmosphere. The staff make all the difference: warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to make your stay exceptional. Every detail feels thoughtfully curated, from the beautiful decor to the welcoming ambience. Lovely breakfast, lovely hotel. Minor point the bathroom in room 125 could do with a lick of paint to freshen it up but overall anyone booking this hotel will be making a good choice in a unique location

We were knocked out by the comtempory feel and stylish interior to what is simply a cave. It was fresh and perfect. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. Even the lovely lady at breakfast remembered what we liked to drink with our breakfast.

The hotel was good and space in room was excellent. Limited cleaning during stay but ok for our 2 days. Shower rod kept falling and it was never fixed.

It’s ok hotel for fit people but several areas of mold in the bathrooms ( we had friends in another room- same mold) is unacceptable! Extremely dangerous step down at the bathroom entrance- waiting for accident to happen! Great breakfast!

Great location with helpful and friendly staffs. Like the free pickup/drop-off from parking garage, breakfast is pretty good, the location (right in Sassi) is pretty cool and decent options on restaurants and cafes.

Was unable to partake in breakfast. Most of the staff was very nice and helpful except the man (or shuttle driver) when we arrived that nite. I don’t appreciate being yelled at by staff at a hotel I paid for. Was not very understanding and rude.

Excellent location and friendly staffs, wonderful breakfast!! Shuttle service was excellent. I want to special thank for giussepe and front manager. They provide us breakfast earlier.

Hotel first: Basiiani Hotel is a marvel in a town once called the 'Shame of Italy'. It is a hotel that is comprised of several rooms carved into caves that used to be people's homes. It is awesome. The decor, beds, bathroom and amenities all top notch. The staff friendly and the buffet breakfast was great. Highly recommended. Now the town of Matera.... you must go. Truly out of this world and worth every adjective of beauty.
