"The room was clean but tiny and the floor sloped. The bed was ok and bathroom was pretty good. The room is listed as having toiletries - there is one wash for both hair and body that is all. It’s an old building and there was a draft from the window and it was very noisy (wedding reception just below our room with music til midnight) ear plugs would have been good. The bar and restaurant were lovely and breakfast delicious. It’s a good location. You need to book parking spots and there are only a few, the overflow was also full so we ended up in the pay and display across the road (this was fine and £13 for 24 hours). "

"Breakfast was excellent. WiFi fast. Staff lovely. A few stains on the carpet. Mattress very uncomfortable - asked for a mattress topper, but they don't have any, so gave us a duvet to put under the sheet, which sort of worked. Air con on some kind of sensor/timer which meant it goes off during the night and the room got hot quite quickly. "

"Excellent location near Whitby. Staff friendly and helpful. Well maintained building with lovely garden area. Two visiting peacocks made added to the ambience. Would definitely stay again"

"Rooms have seen better days I need of a freaking up. Doors and needing replaced. Bad mold around the windows. For £70 a night it’s not really acceptable. "

"The most incredible stay at this hotel, our room was facing the bay and it blew our mind how beautiful this place was! 1000000% recommend and the hot breakfast was delicious! Can’t wait to return!!! "

"Clean room, if tired, was nice for 2 nights though I did mention to them that the mattress in our lovely room really needed replacing. The staff were great but clearly shorthanded. On our first night we ate in the bar, but waited an hour for our meals which were ok... The views as shown on the ads are spot on - incredible, and we were very lucky with the weather. With some investment, this place could be really, really lovely, inside as well as out."
