Country hotel, by its location very much so.

Comfortable 2 night stay we were locted at the top of the hotel so. lots of (stairs) steps, but staff helped with cases. Evening meal plus breakfast good deal

fabulous period property. Welcoming staff. Great location. Only negative for us was that although the room we had was lovely and spacious, it was an attic room with low ceiling beams requiring anyone over 6ft tall to keep ducking.

Birthday at Dunsley Hall.

So we booked a four poster room only to find out the bed was broken but was tols we had a free upgrade which was lovely .It was my Birthday they gave me a chocolate bunny and carrot with eggs in also i had a birthday cake with happy birthday on in candles and a card. We were up early so had an hours walk around the area which was nice as it was sunny n warm. Breakfast was lovely .A big choise all freshly cooked to order staff friendly and lovely Been twice would go again 🤗🤗😍😍 Rooms are old but it is expected why we go there to get away from it all lovely and clean though.

Another lovely stay but would advise booking directly through hotel as the rate was exactly the same but you are offered a ‘nicer’ room if you book direct. We were in an extension and although heaters were provided, it was a little cold

Decent stay...areas for improvement though

A decent stay at Dunsley Hall for one night. Room was well appointed with old world charm. Cleanliness was an issue throughout the hotel. Our bathroom and bedroom needed a deeper clean - some hairs were visible in the bathroom. The bar we were shown to before eating had visible cobwebs with the tables needing a good clean. The restaurant was good. Food was to a good standard with a decent selection. Evening meal and breakfast were highlights of the stay. A tasty cooked breakfast with a good continental selection. Service was good throughout. There was no one at reception when checking in so had to locate staff with someone assisting me from the kitchen. With some more care, a deep clean, some money spent on a refurbishment, and some more staff training, this could be a good hotel but at the moment it’s just a decent hotel.

Not a 4 star experience

The overall experience was average. The carpet was worn and stained. The room smelt musty; springs were felt in the bed. The bathroom has a roll top bath but no shower curtain to enable showering and the bathroom smelt mouldy. We requested service after the first night's stay but only made the bed was made and the bathroom was not cleaned as we had to use the towels to wipe up the water on the floor, after showering and the wet towels were still in the bath. There was no information in the room about the services offered at the hotel. The WiFi only worked in the bar. The breakfast and the staff were very good and the location, grounds and buildings were lovely.

Check in was a bit strange and not very welcoming but the hotel is beaitiful and the room large warm and comfortable. The Wifi does not seem to extend to the rooms only the bar area. Dinner and breakfast were good and the staff on these duties much more pleasant than reception staff.

Lovely hotel in beautiful grounds but a little too remote. You can walk in to Sandsend but it’s a long country road and very narrow when cars pass.. walking back is all uphill and we needed a taxi which cost £9. If you just are looking to drive everywhere it’s petfect.

Lovely old country hotel, with good service, friendly staff and large clean room with comfortable bed and huge ensuite bathroom. Some areas of the hotel could do with a little attention (some painting & general maintenance), but overall, a very pleasant stay at a reasonable price which included a very generous breakfast. Would definitely recommend it.
