"The rooms were kept nice and cold and very well cleaned. They would come in a restock the fridges and clean the rooms daily. The staff on the property was very nice, fun and helpful!! The buffet was also full of delicious foods and also had 3 other fancy restaurants at resort. Would recommend 1000%"

"Not one of my favorite RIU Hotels. When we arrived, the room we requested was not available. The people at the front desk acted like this was an inconvenience for them! Instead, they gave us an adjoining room. I did not realize at the time, this meant we would be sharing with a total stranger with only a door separating us! The first family was loud and kept us awake until 4am. every night. On the last day, the east pool was closed for repair. The swim up bar got shut down because someone had vomited inside the pool. A couple hours later, someone vomited in that pool and instead of shutting it down, the hotel crew took buckets and scooped out the vomit and tossed it to the outside of the pool! On a positive note, the bartenders and the Sports Bar were very friendly. Public bathrooms were always clean and the cleaners aways greeted you with a smile."

"This place shines in its cleanliness but thats about as far as the good service goes the food made me and the family sick and the workers lie to try and get you to agree then dont follow through with any promises wouldnt waiste your time here unless saving money is worth the headache constipation and stomach aches"

"Perfect size rooms for family of five, calm waters, peaceful feel. Went to Royal sands more action, larger pools, strong waves. Enjoyed our time. Decent food and reservation restaurants had very good food. "

"Overall, the Cancun Bay Resort is a budget-friendly hotel, but the reality is quite different from the pictures. When we arrived, the first room was dirty and things left on the bed, possibly even blood stains or makeup stains and even though we were given a free upgrade, the new room still wasn’t up to expectations. Staff repeatedly entered our room without knocking up to six times which made us feel extremely unsafe, especially with children. While it was marketed as all-inclusive, food options were limited, and not all drinks were included. On the plus side, though, even with a late flight, they let us keep using the facilities after checkout, and they stored our bags, which was really convenient. To their credit, when we reported an AC leak on the first night, maintenance did fix it quickly. So, it can work for a budget stay, but families especially should be cautious, as privacy and cleanliness were major concerns for us."
