Super clean and incredibly comfortable, this hotel is a gem! The apartment setup—complete with a kitchen, laundry, and separate toilet/shower/vanity—was fantastic, allowing us to move around independently without crowding each other. West Japan made a wonderful stay in Kyoto. If you’re staying long term, this is the place. The room itself came with all the amenities, including a full kitchen and the area was a 10 minute walk to Gion and other popular areas. The only con is I would say it is far from a train station, but most things were walkable or a taxi ride away.

Right in the heart of Gion. Staff are very welcoming and accommodating. The room is very nice and beautiful looking, has English instructions for operating the ac, washing machine, etc. I really liked it overall.

It was amazing to stay in a Machiya house near Kiyomizudera. Very cool but also somehow creepy.

It was a nice stay if you want to stay somewhere traditional. We stayed for one night ant the guest house and we wanted the experience. The place didn’t feel clean. We saw French fries and napkins on the floor when we checked in. Overall it was a good stay. The bedding was very comfortable. One of the rooms has a green exit sign which was very bright when you go to sleep.

The best hotel in our 2.5-week trip! The room was actually an apartment with kitchen, washing machine and a nice balcony. We spent 5 days there, and appreciated the possibility to cook our breakfast, because most cafes nearby open at 9 am. The location is great, with many tourist attractions within walking distance and an easy bus ride to Kyoto train station.

Strongly recommended. Amazing location that allows you to walk to the most popular destinations. Close to 711 and bus stop. Room was large and clean. Onsite washing machine was super convenient. Although we didn’t use the kitchen, it’s nice to have. While they don’t offer the same toiletries as business hotels, you will get the basics. We’ll come back to this hotel again

We (partner and 10 year old) loved this place- great location in the old town, quiet, lovely staff who were always so helpful (allowed us to store our luggsge on the last day, free umbrellas to use). Verr clean and tidy room, very comfortable beds, hot shower. I loved having a window that opened to a small balcony (to help dry washing too). Admittedly there wasn't a lot of room in the bedroom with three suitcases but overall a fabulous place with staff who responded quickly to emails and always greeted us warmly. Great value for money place- would stay there again.

Property is in nice neighborhood, very close to bus stops/routes (<2 min), directly accessible from Kyoto station. Hotel is near several tourist locations and immediately walkable. Room size is decent with table, with washer but no dryer. Not a lot of drying rack/space though, and there is no external area to dry it outside. Not a lot of utensils/plates, but we made do. Electric locks for main door and room access was somewhat unexpected, not sure if this is the norm nowadays (haven't traveled internationally since before covid). Lots of clean towels, and only one room cleaning during our 5 day stay, and evidently there wouldn't have been any if we had stayed for fewer days. Used towels/garbage left at door in early morning for takeaway. Front door office staff, but only for limited hours during the day. Overall, nice stay and convenient access to public transportation.

This was a very central location to be based. Literally a few metres from a main area with lots of food and restaurant choices, 5-10 mins walk to the Geisha area, and about a 10 minutes walk to Kymiozu temple and a shopping street offering further food and restaurant choices as well as souvenirs. There were local buses available all along the street from the hotel and everywhere was easily accessed. The hotel itself was clean and beds were very comfortable. Would recommend it as an ideal location to be based for a visit to Kyoto.
