I would recommend this hotel for solo and couples travelling. It was a little more challenging with children in the traditional Japanese room. But the hotel is clean, simple and eco friendly.

Coffee and cappuccino 24/7 in the lobby, laundry facility in the unit and spacious 2 bedroom 2 bath suite with spacious living room. We felt like home! The staff was soo very helpful, 711 around the corner, nishiki market a quick 10 min walk- we loved this location and this hotel. If I ever were to come back to Kyoto- this is exactly where we would stay!

Check in and out was smooth and fast. Staff went through all the amenities/ perks offered. Asked us what we needed and provided it to us before we even left reception. EXCELLENT SERVICE! Room was spacious. Kitchen area was great and had all that we needed. Bathrooms were clean and well designed. Beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay at a Mimaru accommodations again.

Spacious, clean hotel located in an excellent part of Kyoto. It was close to several transit options and within walking distance to major shopping areas and Nishiki Market. Highly recommend and will return again to the Mimaru Shijo.

This was outstanding customer service. From the moment we were greeted, we felt well cared for. Games for the kiddos, happy hour with sake and beer, tables for a morning coffee. The rooms were excellent and very spacious for our family of four. Highly recommend the location as well. A quick walk to with lots to do in the area:)

Our family of four loved having a two bedroom and two bathroom suite. With a washing machine/dryer in our room also! The hotel was quiet and the staff were helpful. The early evening happy hours with draft beer and sakes were a nice touch to come back to after a heavy day of sightseeing. Would definitely recommend!

Our stay at Mimaru Kyoto exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. A special thank you to Sae at the front desk, who went above and beyond throughout our stay. She was attentive, thoughtful, and always happy to help, whether it was finding the perfect restaurant recommendations or helping us make sure we could watch a FIFA match. Her kindness and genuine care made a great stay even more memorable. The apartment was spacious, immaculate, and exceptionally well equipped. Having an in-room washer and dryer was such a convenience, especially while travelling as a family. It truly felt like a home away from home. We also really enjoyed the complimentary happy hour in the lobby, which was a lovely touch and a great way to unwind after a day of exploring. The location is excellent, with easy access to transit and many of Kyoto’s highlights. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay and would absolutely return on our next visit to Kyoto. Highly recommended!

The staff at this hotel were 100% amazing. They all went above and beyond for me. The room was more than comfortable for 6 people. It is a little bit more than I wanted to pay but it was great. Highly recommend.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. It’s perfectly situated, away from the crowds but still close to the main shopping area and trains. You can also find a mixture of local and touristy restaurants. The staff is very kind and helpful and speak perfect English. I think this is now my favorite hotel in Kyoto.
