I would recommend this hotel for solo and couples travelling. It was a little more challenging with children in the traditional Japanese room. But the hotel is clean, simple and eco friendly.

Coffee and cappuccino 24/7 in the lobby, laundry facility in the unit and spacious 2 bedroom 2 bath suite with spacious living room. We felt like home! The staff was soo very helpful, 711 around the corner, nishiki market a quick 10 min walk- we loved this location and this hotel. If I ever were to come back to Kyoto- this is exactly where we would stay!

Check in and out was smooth and fast. Staff went through all the amenities/ perks offered. Asked us what we needed and provided it to us before we even left reception. EXCELLENT SERVICE! Room was spacious. Kitchen area was great and had all that we needed. Bathrooms were clean and well designed. Beds were comfortable. We would definitely stay at a Mimaru accommodations again.

Spacious, clean hotel located in an excellent part of Kyoto. It was close to several transit options and within walking distance to major shopping areas and Nishiki Market. Highly recommend and will return again to the Mimaru Shijo.

This was outstanding customer service. From the moment we were greeted, we felt well cared for. Games for the kiddos, happy hour with sake and beer, tables for a morning coffee. The rooms were excellent and very spacious for our family of four. Highly recommend the location as well. A quick walk to with lots to do in the area:)

Our family of four loved having a two bedroom and two bathroom suite. With a washing machine/dryer in our room also! The hotel was quiet and the staff were helpful. The early evening happy hours with draft beer and sakes were a nice touch to come back to after a heavy day of sightseeing. Would definitely recommend!

We traveled to Kyoto as a family of 4 and arrived to Mimaru Suites in the evening. The room was like having a small apartment. It had two separate bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, one attached to the one of the rooms and one was separate. The layouts on the website are accurate. We even had a couple nights where we watched Netflix like we do at home (however it was in Japanese! We had to do English subtitles!) There is tea and coffee available every morning from 7am - 10pm and also free sake and Japanese beer from 5pm-7pm. Totally worth it! The front desk staff are so helpful and so friendly and nice. The location was about 15-20 minute walk to Kyoto Station, a 12-15 minute walk from Nishiki Market entrance and a 3 minute walk to the local rail. We thought we would use the rail more but we ended up using a taxi because it only cost slightly more to take the taxi for 4 people and it was SO easy to get a taxi from the main street which was right out the door. There is a temple right in front of the hotel and lots of eating options. The 7-11 is a 1 minute walk around the corner from the front desk. The location is VERY quiet even though it is pretty much on a main street and we loved it. it was so nice to come back to a quiet hotel after a day of sightseeing. Would definitely recommend.
