"Large pool so you never felt you were too close or on top of anyone. Liked that there were multiple hot tubs connected to the pool area.
Beach was close and water was nice but for the many loose sediments rolling on the ocean floor, such as lava rocks, to which I gashed my foot stepping on one. Staff who helped with gash were helpful and pleasant.
Many options to eat at the resort. From sit down to grab and go (breakfast).
The servers poolside were a hit or miss. On day 1 the server was SO pleasant and extremely helpful, especially getting ice for my sprained ankle (yes, that happened too). She also was quick on delivery of food and drinks, and frequently asked if we needed anything. On day 2, I had to flag down the server for the section, albeit she helped the guests in the chairs adjacent but not once did she stop to ask if we wanted anything. After flagging down, the drinks and requested bag of ice for my ankle never arrived and I had to send my husband to track her down.
View from the room was very nice, especially the balcony. It was relaxing to sit there and watch the pool action or listen to the waves crash.
They offer daily activities, such as plumeria rosette making, ukulele lessons, bingo, etc. It was a nice break in the day to do the activities."
"A quick drive to the harbor (good eats, beech, indoor mini golf & a lighthouse) and close to the airport, costco, target etc. we found it a good hub to drive to both ends of the island’s roads However, Lihue itself isnt really walkable and the north side (Hanalei) which has a cuter towny vibe and great food & drink is ~45 mins drive away. Not a ding but worth knowing up front"
Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu, Autograph Collection
10/10 Excellent
"We loved this hotel. The pool was amazing. Never too crowded, could always find a few lounge chairs anytime of day. Kids loved the water slides and different pools. We stayed in a 1br villa and the layout and kitchen worked great for our fam of 4. Maybe we would get a 2br next time to have more space to spread out. Great location, 5 min from
Shops and restaurants and Koloa beach where you can see turtles and snorkel. Will stay here again."
"Grounds were meticulously maintained. The buildings and our room were well kept but it’s an older property so things are showing their age here and there. Pools were great but here is an insider tip. The pool by the beach is busy with a lot of kids and the bar is there. If you want to chill the pool over by the building with reception desk is much quieter with hardly any kids
We had an ocean view room and it was spectacular. Lava was typical bar. It could use some updates. Rumfire onsite restaurant was fire. Great dinner there butterfish and lamb chop combo."
"Our room was excellent. When selecting a room I saw no guidance that the room was a second story walk-up, which was a challenge for senior citizens with some mobility difficulties. Would have preferred ground level."
