CGH Le Hameau de Pierre Blanche

"It was a one-week long stay with a group of colleagues (8 total). Usually we rent the same chalet in Chamonix but this year it wasn’t available because of renovation so I looked for alternatives in the valley. This property in Les Houches is very spacious and well maintained although the bathrooms would benefit from renovation. The facilities on-site were great (sauna, pool, etc.) The location is quiet and remote. There is a very easy rock climbing area (good for children) about 5min walking. And some sports facilities. There were people playing tennis outside until sunset but it wasn’t too noisy. Things to keep in mind: (i) the laundry on-site is expensive which isn’t usual for chalets in Chamonix - it’s typically included; (ii) the location is 2km away from the center of Les Houches - if you’re without a car prepare to walk 8min from the bus stop Le Prarion or 15min from the train stop Viaduc Ste Marie (Google Maps don’t know the trail to go there!); (iii) the nearest grocery store is also 2.5km away."

"Wonderful property, good breakfast and very clean. Finding the property arriving after dark was very difficult. Also Expedia had not forwarded the instructions for access to property in time. Luckily another guest let us in and put us in contact with Mattias to get the codes for our room and front door. Property is not manned other than for breakfast so make sure you have the codes for the doors. Roads to property is winding narrow mountain driving. Would not like to drive here when there is snow on the road."
