Stay a night, very old school design hotel. Need renovation to upkeep and compete with others. Biggest upset,room with ciggy smell although been given at non smoking floor. Room too dim and dark, air con temperature cant be adjusted

Room aircon was initially not cold even when temp was at lowest. After technician came, both rooms aircon too powerful with the aircon (lowest fan speed) blowing directly on the faces of the person sleeping further from the aircon. The toilet bowl for one room was quite dirty whereas bathtub for other room was also dirty that we didn’t use. Kettles very dirty. Hair dryer spoiled & replacement given promptly. Requested for toilet paper as it ran out & after 30mins it still didnt came. In the end used other room toilet. We pressed button for housekeeping & was shocked no housekeeping done when we got back at night. We then requested for just replacement of towels since it was already late. It didn’t came after waited for abt 20mins so my friend went down to reception to request personally as we can’t get through housekeeping & reception nbrs. It was only then that the recep told us that there will be no housekeeping throughout our stay & that if we wanted towels to be changed then we should have told them during check-in. She said her colleague would have told us but none of us recalled that the staff had told us this during our check-in. Friend physically waited at the reception as we have a feeling our request will be ignored just like the previous 2 times. The recep only went to get the items about 10mins after seeing that friend still waiting near the reception. Overall cleanliness for room average. Their breakfast & lobby area was good though. Staff also friendly.

Grand Paragon used to be our go-to hotel before the pandemic. But the standards have dropped tremendously. 1. We were “upgraded” to a king bedroom from standard twins. However, the air con in the room was constantly having loud noises. The technician came to rectify it but it came back the next morning. 2. There was a loud noise from the toilet whenever there was someone from the other room using the tap. 3. Was given only one card during check-in. When we went to get another card the next morning, the counter staff simply asked for our room number and gave us the card without verifying our details. 3. Breakfast buffet experience was terrible. Food was not topped up, limited food options, multiple tables were uncleared, dirty flooring. 4. The hotel common area is just simply rundown.
