A pretty standard railway hotel for the money. Rooms are basic but clean, all you need for a good nights sleep before catching an early train. Close by to shopping centres and the train station is about a five minute walk. Some eateries near by but I got there quite late so didn’t have time to explore. Breakfast was reasonable however the coffee could have been better as could the hot water supply to the shower. My nights sleep was broken by the rowdy locals potentially an argument between the rough sleepers opposite also a weird series of banging noises sounded like boulders being dumped from a truck near by happen once close by then a few more times in the distance. Apart from that all good.

I'm mad Expedia for not knowing rhat there is a countrywide hotel tax paid at the hospital. 2 Best things about the hotel: * very affordable food options in the hotel although it was double or trupple the street price, it was cleaner and had more variety than street breakfast * best proximity to CIQ. Literally the first hotel outaide the mall connected to CIQ and thus Singapore

My hotel experience..

Very convenient n close to City Square. Washing basin in toilet leaks.. Room interior is very classic n clean. Hall to the room is a bit smelly. Overall, it is a value for money staying.

Best go-to JB hotel & Club Deluxe ALWAYS

I will always choose this hotel whenever in JB for a short retreat because of its excellent customer service! Prompt & attentive staffs as always. Enjoyed the breakfast buffet! No complains. Room spotlessly clean. Literally value for money. location is a WIN Walk to pasar karat 5min City Square Mall just across the hotel street HOW CONVENIENT!

I was cheated by the hotel and expedia. The apps indicated this hotel as newly renovated. But is the lobby i think looks new. Everything in the room and room corridor will old and dirty. No slippers provided though the apps said it comes with. Only have 2 dirty towels given. Never to stay here and use expedia. What a disppintment.

The room #1013 plastic kettle is in deteriorating condition. The boiled water contains rubber smell, may have toxins dissolve from the plastic kettles. Please change all your plastic kettles to metal kettles. The free 3-1 instant coffee are of Low quality with bad taste. Please proved tea bags for guest who are non coffee drinkers. Please provide provide tooth brush as a standard items in the toiletries instead of wasting time to go to your reception for requesting.

Irresponsible hotel and bad stay

Wasn't able to check in until 4+ am due to power shutdown. Wasted my money on booking for one night stay when I only managed to check in at close to 5am and check out at 9am as I needed a stay over before moving for next destination. The lobby was filled with people sleeping on the sofa because they couldn't enter the rooms to sleep. Wanted the hotel to refund but they rejected and said it was not their issue for the power shutdown. It wasn't my issue as well please. I paid for the whole night stay without any compensation. I bought the breakfast buffet as well but it was another waste of money. They only have one soup, nasi lemak, kuay teow, bread and omelette. Such limited choices, you would rather walk out and eat elsewhere cheaper and nicer.
