"We've always stayed at the Ala Moana because the service is very good, location is central for our needs and the mall so close is very convenient. The room is large and there is a large "open space" between the bed and the sliding glass door/window. I wish they would put a small table in that space with 2 chairs so we could sit down to eat. There is a small shelf along the wall that you can use to eat off of but not convenient. Self-parking available in their underground lot but $41/day is pretty steep but I guess comparable to other places."

"The room was gorgeous! Bravo for the elevated and tasteful decor. The exterior does need a little facelift here and there as it is an older hotel, but there is a "classic," old Hawaii charm about it. Bell Attendant was a bit pushy when we did not let him take our bags before check in - asking repeatedly - when guaranteed check in was only 30min out. Other than that, the staff at the Veranda was so nice and cheerful and dinner at Arancino was amazing. This is a great option to stay outside of Waikiki."
