The castle is amazing but the main reason i loved this place so much is because the staff were beyond perfect. They made our stay something I will never forget. "An extremely warm welcome at reception was followed by an offer to upgrade our room to accommodate for a mobility issue. Throughout our stay all staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good but lacked a couple of items that I expect to be on the menu. Overall, I would highly recommend booking this Hotel."

"Parking was spacious. Large bedroom and huge bed. Breakfast selection brought to the room in the morning was reasonable. Low sugar option would be nice and a small table to eat at rather than one eating on the bed as there was only one chair. Be aware of tiny steps in the corridor, my husband didn't see one when checking in and carrying luggage and broke his thumb. There can be some noise from the bar below. Also, on a main road so a large amount of fast moving, noisy traffic. Double glazing dulled it a bit but if it was hot and you wanted the window open, would be difficult to sleep."

"It was an amazing experience to be in a real castle we chose a cheaper room so we didn’t have an en-suite but a beautiful bathroom in the corridor instead. The owners were so helpful and friendly and we had a very good quality evening meal with beautiful romantic piano music played by the manager and a history talk too. The owner was a beautiful lady who chatted to us in the bar area. We’d like to go again. Breakfast was good."

"It was a good place for my American visitors to spend their first night in the UK. A traditional pub in a very attractive town. Dinner and breakfast were good. We found the parking area at the back of Morrisons. A bit tight but after some back and forth I managed to wedge the car in and didn't block anyone else."
