"Such a charming hotel a stones throw from the heart of the shopping and attractions. We had been worried about booking here after recent floods but they have recovered perfectly with everything clean, and I’m so glad we did. The service and smiles are amazing and I can’t fault a single thing about our 4 night stay. A few notable comments: early and efficient house keeping (no coming back after lunch to an unmade room), great food, fast service for room service and requests, a blissful day spa (we had a 3 hour package one night before bed after a busy day & it was the best decision). The large bathrooms and comfortable seating area are also a plus. While I had been nervous that some reviews referred to noise at night, we have found it to be ok. There is some noise that echoed into our room which was close to the lifts one night, but it was attributed to loud people, not the fault of the hotel. Definitely value for money staying here."

"The hotel staff was so incredibly supportive and helpful during our 3 night stay. The room was large and comfortable and the area felt very quiet and safe. You can see the area around the hotel is still recovering from the flooding but that didn’t affect our experience at all. We are the epitome of showing up without plans so meeting Ruby at the front desk was delightful! She helped up book day trips, shows, dinners and massages! We loved every minute at the Gem and would definitely stay there again! "

"This is a wonderful small hotel. The staff are very friendly and do a great job of keeping the rooms spotless. The owner, Lam is a wonderful guy. You’re able to book anything through him without hassle. This is a very calm and chill place to stay. I would definitely recommend it to friends!"

"Everything from the moment we arrived was wonderful. Location was perfect for us as we only had 24hrs to get tailoring completed. Easy walk over the bridge to Markets and Tailor shops and an amazing Bahn Mi shop. Wish we had longer, could have spent 3 days easily. A great inclusive breakfast too. "
