"Hotel 81 Tristar was in an excellent location. It was close enough to the city that we could easily travel to attractions but far away enough that we felt like we were surrounded by normal Singaporean people. The staff were friendly and helpful and the pool was a good size and clean."

"Seemed like the hostel was filled with locals rather than travellers. Pretty hard to sleep due to street noise and obnoxious exit signs that illuminate the whole room. Ended up leaving early as one guy in the room seemed like he had the plague and was coughing horrendously loud all night. Obviously this isn’t really the hostels problem but I think it sums up the vibe of the place."
