"We travelled by train so was great to find a bus nearby to take us to the station . A very easy walk into town of Lucca which is beautiful. Stayed a week at Hotel San Marco so could have done with some variety in the breakfast . The pool area was great for relaxing before and after any day trips out and about . Room was well equipped , bit dark as had no windows but the bonus was a private garden with seating and table. Overall a great stay"

"Villa Truia was an intimate and welcoming respite for my three nights in Lucca. While I thought it would be better to stay within the walled city, Villa Tria is just outside and an lovely walk to the city centre. The room is ample by European standards. Bed was comfortable and the bathroom had all the amenities. Monica and Manuela were so gracious and the breakfast was the perfect way to start the day. They were so accommodating and it was a superb experience."

"Le Dimore del Borgo is just on the outskirts of Lucca, 5min walk and you enter the walls of Lucca. Parking at the hotel is limited, about 10ish cars in total directly at the back of the hotel in an off street secure parking lot. The hotel reception is not staffed 24-7. The rooms were very clean and spacious, with cooking facilities and dining table. The bathroom was very clean. There is no bar or restaurant in this hotel, but breakfast is available if booked in advance (I believe it is served to the room). It is very well located, safe to walk in the neighborhood and a good location to explore Lucca from. They have a very nice small dog 🐶that is at reception in the morning."

Only complaint would be the noisy air conditioning unit in the room. Had to turn it off but lead to a sleepless night due to heat in room. Tried opening windows but didn't cool room down. Only stayed 2 nights so don't complain about it. Hotel was full"
