"Worst homestay ever, modern scam. 2 room have no air conditioner. Everything about to rotten. Had to pay extra money for extra person, without giving extra pillow, blanket etc. No wonder its always available on to book. Toilet was worst. Towel smell like they never wash. Bad experience ever. "
"There was no attendance to our check in, key was left in the letter box to collect, spoke to the person In charge about things that are not working order, fridge not working, stove not working, no inventories of kitchen utensils, wifi not working well! "We stayed at the golden sands by shangri-la in penang 5th to 8th of july. We had a beach /pool facing room which i would strongly recommend. Rooms are spacious and clean, buffet breakfast had a wide variety of food, plenty of pool activities and areas of entertainment for kids,I would highly recommend this hotel to any type of visitor "
"Very enjoyable stay. Obviously very busy with the start of school holidays in Malaysia and lots of visitors but still managed to find little areas of peace & sunbeds by the pool!
Staff all excellent and friendly - common areas clean and enjoyable to relax in.
Facilities good - the main restaurant and "Pizzeria" very clean, good food & lovely staff.
Swimming pools good with areas for families (ie kids) and adults. Splash area was looking a little worn with the underfoot surface degraded but not unexpected considering the heavy use.
Breakfast amazing. Good quality and enough to go round even when it was at its most craziest! Only thing I'll say is please make more teh tarik - it always ran out by 9am and no top up.
Room great (we had a seaview) - large clean and had all the storage we needed and amenities (two bottles of water a day & tea/ coffee making facility). TV entertainment brilliant with plenty of movies and TV shows available.
Overall very happy and look forward to staying again!"
"Room was ok the only problem is that as soon as I get there they tell me WiFi wasn’t working, after a shower I notice that the toilet was leaking from the pipe behind it and there was no hot water at all not that you need it but not everyone is comfortable taking cold showers, the worst was the guy at reception, the day before I told him I had to leave early in the morning he told me no problem, when I get there day after reception is closed and they had my deposit, I start banging on the door until a poor woman comes and opens up for me and gives me back my deposit "
"Great place to stay! Steps away from the beach. Loved the pool with kids pool being a bonus. Having a wide selection of TV channels was great. Watched some Olympics. Plenty of dining options available with the night market being our favorite choice. The bus stop to Georgetown and other attractions right in front. Would recommend!"
