"The staff is excellent here. The suite we reserved was an exceptional value, and it was very well maintained and one of the best conditions of any hotels we've stayed at - and we've stayed at some really nice ones! Pros: wonderful staff, value, cleanliness, condition, spatious suite, pet friendly, game room for the kids. Cons: only one elevator (shared with housecleaning) that is not climate controlled, it serves only 3 floors but it's also very slow and smaller. The area is hard to walk (no crosswalks near light). The parking lot is very well lit and I felt comfortable leaving lots of valuables in our vehicle while we were mid-move. I was really surprised in the best way possible with how nice Best Western can be."
"So originally we were booked to stay at the Goodwin Hotel about two minutes away. Got there and our room wasn’t ready! We had 1 hour to get ready for our friend’s wedding. I went on Expedia app, searched what was available in the area and The Capitol Hotel popped up. Room was HALF THE PRICE from the Goodwin Hotel!!! So I booked it and went there. Got there and was greeted with a friendly staff member at the front desk. He checked us in quickly and gave us the BEST room available. Top floor with an AMAZING view, directly across from the Capitol building overlooking the park!
Room was clean and we had no complaints whatsoever ever. Breakfast the following morning was also plentiful and delicious! Eggs, sausage, potatoes, waffles, OJ, fruit, cereal, outmeal and coffee was available. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed. Also I was shocked when I went down to the lobby to purchase toothpaste and was told it was complimentary!!! Upon checking out we were greeted by another great staff member at the front desk, who informed us about the annual jazz festival in July and Jamaica festival beginning of August. Next year we will come back to Hartford and we WILL be staying at the Capitol Hotel! 5 ⭐️"
