"We arrived at Burning Shore for our prebooked - prepaid accomodation over Xmas holidays - only to find it closed and without any notice on the door. When we phoned we were told the hotel was closed for renovations- and that they had not received our booking or payment ( clearly confirmed in hotels.com) - and no rooms were available in an adjacent/ presumably affiliated hotel ( 2 days before Xmas) . "Great apartment in a perfect location. I was on my own, but this would have also been ideal for a family. There is a sauna and hot tub below. Well equipped kitchen. The lady at the reception was friendly and wonderfully helpful. She helped me to get my motorcycle into the garage. I hadn't heard of Henties Bay in the past, it turned out to be a brilliant seaside town for relaxing and walking. There's a good supermarket and restaurants. I had fish and chips at Fishy Corner, and a toasted sandwich...

"A very comfortable well appointed lodge with excellent service focused staff. All rooms perched on the river bank with large viewing deck areas, the room also large, immaculately clean, a/c, inside or exterior shower, full bath with view. The food was also very good. Included 5 course served fixed menu dinner each evening, wine very reasona-ble from £12 a bottle. Lovely small pool area for a welcome cooling break. WiFi at the lodge main areas only not in room. "

"We stayed in a Double room (Point of View) at Düsternbrook and very much enjoyed the tranquility and the incredible view at the pool and our room & deck. The staff are all kind, helpful and happy to answer all questions. Whilst driving to the lodge we already spotted heaps of animals like giraffes, warthogs, all kind of birds, baboons, Kudus, springboks etc., so driving slowly pays off.
