"What a great trip. We loved the unique location, the surrounding animals and nature, excellent service, and comfortable rooms. The food was great, everything was well-organized, and everything ran smoothly. The salespeople were a bit pushy initially, but once we shared our plans and preferences, they gave us space. The Xcaret park entrances are literally right by the lobby and the hotel's beach areas. However, it felt like you were inside Xcaret park even while on the resort grounds. We booked unlimited park entrances, and that was a fantastic choice for us. We did 1-2 experiences each day and then enjoyed relaxing by the pool or the ocean in the afternoons. The night shows at the resort were entertaining and culturally rich. This was our 6th or 7th trip to Mexico, and we’ve learned so much about its culture, people, and beautiful land during this visit."

"We stayed for one night and then spent $6000 to change to a different resort we were having such an awful time. The entire vibe feels like an overpriced hotel with a community pool vibe. Nothing like the other resorts we have stayed at in Mexico. The food was inedible. It was awful. The service was awful. When we went to the buffet each time we had to find a waiter after sitting for 10-15+ minutes to ask for a drink. And when we did they seemed viciously annoyed we were even asking. The elevators were beyond slow. We would wait more than 20 minutes for an elevator because half of them were out of service. The vibes were just atrocious. I’m not someone who is generally picky, but when you’re spending that kind of money you want a good experience. It was just not good at all. The building itself felt gloomy with all the restaurants very close together, I felt like I was in a run down shopping mall. Don’t waste your money. Learn from my mistakes "

"This was our first time in RIU Cabo San Lucas but we have stayed at the RIU Santa Fe. We really enjoyed our experience in a quieter resort considering it was Spring Break."

"Bathroom in rooms stank like sewage. Food was awful and slow, especially at Don Gus. Front desk area stops you every time pressuring you to do their timeshare presentation. My son’s girlfriend was accosted by entertainer by pool, forcing her to go in front of everyone and told to dance while they pour water over her and told to drink tequila without hands. Luckily she stood up to the bully but they boo’d her when she refused and walked away. Definitely not kid or teenage friendly resort. It was an awful experience. Will not be going back to this place ever. "
