"There was no one there! We tried to check in and no one answered and we had to wait around with all our luggage. Location ok, not that central. Was clean. "
"Great location as not too far to walk into the main town. Bed very comfortable and room very large and was very quiet.
The room was nicely decorated too. "
"The views were really nice. The stuff was a really pleasant and helpful. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Lack of water in the rooms no refrigerator . Bathroom ceiling, moldy, moldy."
"For the money, it was a great hotel. Clean room, easy walk to Old Town. There were tons of restaurants to choose from in the old town. Free Breakfast until Noon! Not a fancy place, but the bed, room, and AC were all excellent. Would not hesitate to stay here again."

Historic sites, river views, and bars are some highlights of Coimbra City Centre. Make a stop by Santa Cruz Church or Jardim da Manga while you're exploring.
You can study the exhibits at Casa Museu Bissaya Barreto, a museum with a story of its own, during your travels to Sé Nova. Wander the riverfront and picturesque gardens in the area.
Historic city with beautiful university square and historic Library -- requires advanced tickets. Walkable, Hilly. Wouldn't want to have a car here. Many day trips available to surrounding areas and walking tours available.

We enjoyed visiting the university, which is a UNESCO world heritage site, and the botanical gardens as well. We took the tourist train around the city and it was wonderful!

University at the top of the hill and the walk up are great if you like winding cobble streets. As in all of Portugal, many, many churches.

We liked Coimbra, two of the best restaurants we went to in Portugal were there. Outside of the historic center and cute touristy streets, we felt the city looked a little run down, dirty and covered in graffiti.

Don't skip the awesome college town and the original place for Fado. A Capella is a must stop for Fado and it is down the road from this wonderful hotel.

Combria is very unique in it self and interesting. Being all hills and narrow streets makes it very difficult to drive or walk for older people.
"All of the staff at Hotel Mondego - from the front desk, to the kitchen, to the room service and the rooftop bar — were exceptional. They truly made us feel welcomed and attended too throughout our stay! The accommodations were clean, spacious, and comfortable and the hotel was in perfect walking distance of all there is to see in Coimbra. 100% would stay again. "
"We had the Deluxe Studio and as soon as we arrived we could see how immaculate it was. Bright, beautifully decorated, clean, perfect size for a short stay, fridge/freezer a huge bonus, good size bathroom, table and chairs good for eating and playing cards, nice balcony view to the outside, easy to find and excellent owner - thank you Ricardo for a perfect stay."
"Quinta das Lágrimas has such an important and interesting place in Portuguese history, which we enjoyed learning about during our stay. The old house and surrounding gardens are beautiful and romantic, even in the winter. Our room was in the spa wing, and it was large and comfortable, but the “Queen” bed was actually two twins pushed together (which is common in Europe), the shower flooded easily, and the bathroom door was extremely difficult to lock and unlock. As Canadians, we were also surprised to learn that we were not allowed to use the indoor pool without a swimming cap."
