Positives: Strong airconditioning; friendly staff; decent breakfast, included; good location Negatives: The sleeping room was not clean and a bit run down (eg. the lampshades were stained/discolored and the airconditioning unit seemed to have grim on it). We pointed out to the staff that the floors had obviously not been cleaned and they told us they would clean them, which they did, but not well at all. There was dirt and hair behind one of the bathroom doors from the time we arrive through our 3 night stay despite daily housekeeping. If cleanliness is a priority for you, I would not recommend staying at Hotel Monaguillo de Getsemani.

Excelent hotel in the middle of getzemani. There are a few rooms, and the atmosphere is very positive. Personnel kind and gentle. Available for every request. I definitely suggest this hotel for your trip in Cartagena.

This hotel was a great choice for our first visit to Cartagena, Colombia. It's perfectly located in the heart of the Getsemani neighborhood, with tons of restaurants, shops, and nightlife within a short walking distance. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The hotel was very clean and the food was good. Checking in and out was smooth. The hotel has free Wi-Fi, a swimming pool and jacuzzi on the rooftop. Basically it looks like the pictures on their website. I would highly recommend this hotel and I'll be returning for my next trip to Colombia.

Beautiful little boutique hotel! Very quiet and private despite the busy neighborhood just outside. It was the perfect location for being within walking distance of the walled city and nightlife.

Overall a great stay in an Excellent Location! The room was large, beautiful and comfortable. Loved the shower, the bathrobes, slippers, and Terrace. Only thing that needs improvement is the breakfast, as it was very basic and bare minimum. Wifi was great as well.

Great location

This is great location and the rooftop pools are a huge bonus. Found the check in service and access a bit slow and dated, respectively. Overall great but room for improvement based on another similar hotel experiance in the area.

Cute boutique hotel

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I arrived about an hour before check-in, and went across the street to grab a bite to eat. Charming facility, and very friendly and helpful service. Although the rooms were on the smaller side, they were nonetheless well-maintained. A highlight of the day was the breakfast served Near the rooftop pool. Always delicious and always served with a smile. I would come back again.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and beds are comfortable. The staffs are very respectful. Breakfast is good. The place is centrally located and walking distance to everything. My only problem is their generator malfunctioned during the power outages on our last day. We don’t have water and power for a while so we have to go to another hotel to use their facility. Monthly generator maintenance should be done to avoid this inconvenience in the future.

I would stay again in this property in they changed their check-in process and speed. They couldn't find a stamp on my passport and kept me waiting for hours. There was no clarity on which documents they needed, and although I spoke to the manager who said that it was solved, the girl from the front desk kept asking me for more and. ore documents via whatsapp. I've stayed at hundreds of hotels in Colombia and Cartagena and this had never happened to me before. They could have air conditioning in the lobby or at least better ventilation. It was my first time staying at the hotel and chose it due to the closeness to the port. Upon arrival I felt that I had made a mistake because the "lobby" is dark and hot, but the room was very clean, spacious and with good AC. In the morning the water pump of the hotel was not working and I couldn't take a shower, but the hotel acted promptly and gave me a room to shower in another of their hotels which was just one block away.

A disappointment

The hotel has very kind and careful people on its team, to whom we are grateful, with the exception of one of the employees who was extremely disrespectful when dealing with me personally, except for the mistake of the name Raissa. We arrived at 1:30 in the morning and I couldn't take a shower because the shower didn't have hot water or enough pressure. At 7:00 am, I indicated the problem and was told that it would be resolved in a few minutes. From then on, it was a nightmare: one maintenance employee, two maintenance employees and nothing to resolve effectively. We were told we would change rooms. It was already at 9am and nothing had been resolved. The employee Raissa questioned the fact that there was no pressure in the shower or hot water, despite her colleagues having already exposed the situation, insinuating that we were seeking undue advantage by changing rooms (previously, she showed us a room opposite the leisure area/swimming pool and which we could only enter after 12:00 pm: and I hadn't managed to take a shower yet). It was necessary to confront her directly and make her turn on the shower water in our presence in the room. Total nonsense. Finally, we were authorized to change rooms and this cost us another 2 hours of waiting (we later understood that they also carried out maintenance in the other room so that there would be hot water and adequate pressure in the water drop). We lost a morning in this unpleasant situation.

My family feel there was not enough attention and care with the cleaning of the room. Towels were left wet on the floor and weren’t changed until we asked. The bathroom door wouldnt stay closed when we were going to use the toilet, we asked staff on the first day to put a lock on the door, they said that the matter would be dealt with and the door would be fixed. We were there for 3 nights, and the door was never repaired. It could have been such a nice stay, as the hotel is in a good location, but, we would not recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Cartagena.
