"lovely hotel in expansive grounds a few miles from dumfries. very relaxing. good quality room. the windows are tired but would need a bespoke replacement, but happy to overlook due to the quality elsewhere during the stay evening meal and breakfast were both very good and the restaurant seemed busy with locals, always a good sign. i recommend the porridge with honey for breakfast starters we would be very happy to stay there again"

THE ROADHOUSE

"The location was excellent, walking distance from town centre shops, pubs & restaurants. Hotel also had a car park and nice bar with a free pool table. Owner was very helpful with check in and explaining where everything was. It is not trying to be a luxurious hotel, but for a cheap room for the night to break up a long drive it was perfect for my needs. The only real negative I had is that the bed wasn't the comfiest but I still slept fine."
