"Dylan on reception was outstanding in his role. He welcomed us on arrival giving us all the information we needed. He kindly arranged a taxi for us later and was courteous, helpful and friendly throughout our stay. Also Peter who was cleaning the tables in the bar. A nice friendly interesting gentleman."

"Premises would be best described as Runmere MOTEL. The accommodation block is detatched and across the car park from main reception area. OK if you like US style Motel accommodation, I personally din't and would not have booked if I had been aware of this. Rooms are very basic, but adequate. Location is two minutes away from Railway station so very good for transport links. Staff were very friendly, accommodating, polite and attentive. I feel the photos on website don't accurately reflect the layout of the complex. Definitely not for me and I won't be going back."

"Well priced functional place to stay which felt safe and the bed was comfortable. Really kind lass on the reception Chris was very helpful and pleasant after a long haul to the hotel. Pleasant setting though it was dark when I arrived so didn't really get chance to visit. If you just need a reasonable place to hop when you are in the area it's ideal. I was heading to Warrington and it was really easy from there, likewise Haydock, Liverpool, St Helens etc."

"Parking was wonderful but breakfast changed from 09.00 to 11.00 must be reversed back to 09.00. A lot of people are not happy with this changes. Nobody wants to be hanging about due to work starting 09.00 away from the the hotel. 11.00 does not make any sense. I love this Royal Alfred and it's the best in the area. Thank you Emilia."
