"Mattress was not the best"

"I would not stay again, our double bedroom had very tired decor, peeling paint, lots of dust and cobwebs, and overlooked a flat roof/ fire escape. Seems like the room had been slapped with lots of green paint in attempts to modernise it. Not sure how the accommodation can be described as luxury. If we had been staying for more then one night I would have left early. The parking is very limited, but that is stated when booking. Staff at reception were friendly when booking in."

"Lovely stay in this 400 year old building with all its quirky characteristics. Obviously you cannot expect the modern look and feel of ‘normal’ hotels…this has charm and character. Minor issues would be the rather drab colour of our bedroom….no other option than sugar in the bedroom, we would like sweeteners….a little mould on the shower tiles needs attention."

"Friendly and helpful staff. Room was very pleasant and spacious. For me the curly stairs to top floor was an issue because of mobility problem. But i slept well , good choice of breakfast."

"The room was super clean, it appeared to have been recently decorated, the carpets appeared new, the ensuite seemed new, and all was nice. One thing I would say, as the room was facing the garden, there were a couple of spotlights on the front of the abbey/centre, and the window blind didn't fully cover the window, so the light came through that was the only negative thing i could think of"

"Another incredible stay! The staff are always so welcoming and kind, George is just fantastic and so attentive and friendly. The food as usual is delicious, beautiful local produce. The rooms as usual are so clean and super comfy beds. The spa facilities are fantastic. Five stars again from us!! "

"We had a two night stay which was excellent. The breakfast was great, the room was clean and tidy and the restaurant food was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful, would definitely recommend it."
