"This place was in the middle of the northern part of island. From here we explored 3/4 of the island in 2 days with a rental car. It was easy for an american to drive. I suggest an automatic. We had a standard. It was fun. Up and down and around the roads. We tried Cozido das furnas. It was delicious! My wife did a little family history searching, as her family is from the island. We visit the church where the family married and the cemetery. The island is beautiful. Everywhere."

"Fantastic hotel. Great location for walking to the harbor and shopping and restaurants, friendly staff, beautiful decor, and excellent breakfasts. Note that no cars are allowed on street where they are located, but there is parking nearby."

"I would highly recommend this hotel. It is at a great location where one can walk around the Porta Delgada downtown very easily. The staff is excellent and send to take pride in their work. The hotel itself is slightly on the older side, and shows it's age in some places, but it is well maintained and still looks great."
