Our stay at Socialtel was beyond amazing! The staff were so pleasant and accommodating, the vibes were top tier and I would definitely recommend them to everyone! I may visit again!

Hotel has a nice aesthetic and has a lot of amenities. I can see how it would be great for meeting people. However I paid $140/night for the private room with bathroom and honestly think there are many many other hotels in Antigua that give you more value for your money (Smart TVs, larger modern bathrooms, etc.) Room service was horrible, ordered on their app and it took nearly an hour and half to get our food cold and in plastic containers. Had to complain in order to get the order remedied and delivered hot and on actual plates. And lastly I can’t overlook just how noisy this area is- the nearby church rings bells

I had a good stay with pleasant service. A couple of improvements could be made for the WiFi, pool cleanliness, and air conditioning (small portable unit that did not work well).

Selina has many activities and it’s fun to stay there. The staff is amazing. It’s safe but it’s not quiet because it’s not supposed to be quiet. I liked my stay. Will stay again.

This is one of best hostels / hotels I’ve ever stayed at! I‘ve stayed here a few times and I’m always surprised at just how down to earth, friendly and accommodating the staff are here. Amazingly friendly and always make me feel at home.

The staff were amazing, they offered so many activities, it had such a relaxed and fun atmosphere, only complaint was the night time security guy was a little uptight. But all in all, an amzing experience, would definitely stay there again, and even i stayed somewhere else id have to stop by to say hi to the staff.

Our stay was ok, we paid a lot more than the other hostels but don't feel like we got anything more for the value. It's a nice hostel, dude to the rain we couldn't use the pool. The breakfast area stank of booze in the morning which was quite off putting.

States at both Socialtel properties ( Atitlán and Antigua) but the property in Antigua was the worst by far. Staff looked so unhappy I was afraid to ask any questions. The room was dirty and the furniture moths. Very noisy at all times; you could hear people’s steps above you. The towels were old and teared. Don’t stay here; they need major renovations and a change in attitude!

The property is great, but the main thing that really took away from the experience was the loud pop music, from 9am to 10pm everyday, wherever you are on the property. Yoga room? Pop music. In your private room? Pop music.

This is technically a very nice place, very green and lots of places "to hang out". Yet the management of this hostel chain is way too focussed on making the last Dollar out of you, e.g. by overcharging the legal limit for additional nights (in Guatemala every room has a max ask price which hangs in the room). Also the room quality is best average and very noisy as not sound isolated to the outside (you cannot close the top windows which only consist of wooden bars with big spaces in between).

Selina is nice, but there is a clear line between the backpacking traveler and the budget-aware traveler. I think Selina tries to accommodate both but it’s clear it attracts the backpacker more than the budget-aware. The common spaces are cute and quirky, but again it’s quite a young crowd that gathers in the bar in the evenings. I did have a chance to take a yoga class, it’s nice that this is an offering but the outdoor yoga space is right next to the kitchen which is also open air and the people cooking their breakfast were not mindful of their noise and speaking levels at all. Overall it was a decent stay and served its purpose - that being a cost efficient place to stay while we finalized some wedding decisions.
