"I recently stayed at Hotel El Carmen and overall had a really good experience. The staff honestly made the whole trip—they were so friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything. The room was very clean and comfortable, which I appreciated. At one point the showerhead broke, but they came and fixed it right away with no hassle, so everything stayed smooth. One of my favorite parts was the view—the volcano was absolutely beautiful, and we could even see smoke coming from it. That alone made the stay feel special. The food was a bit hit or miss. Breakfast was great and dessert was definitely a highlight, but dinner wasn’t my favorite. The drinks also weren’t very strong, which was a little disappointing. That said, the staff really made this place stand out for me. Their energy and hospitality were the best part of the whole experience, and I’d still come back because of that."

"Lovely hotel with beautiful architecture, great gardens and attention to historic detail. Did ask for my hot tub to be activated ( it is in a garden with no instructions) but it didn’t happen. Might have used the mini bar in my room if I had been provided with a corkscrew/ bottle opener… but I hadn’t so I was saved some money! All in all though, a treat."

"I got asked to pay for my breakfast when it was included in the price. Took a while to sort out. Communal areas a bit noisy because of a convention but bedroom peaceful. Great swimming pool - 25 meters long!"

"Staff weren't as helpful as intended/needed. The 24-hour airport shuttle was not available to us upon arrival, even after reaching out to book transportation several days in advance. Also, when checking out, we were charged 7 USD each for used towels because the hotel claimed they were unable to clean them. Beds were also very firm/hard and uncomfortable. Do not plan on staying here again! "
