"Staff are very polite, especially the staff at the restaurant, it was a great experience of the Kaiseki. Room is clean, and nice with the onsen. Staff are very helpful and cheerful. "
"We had a wonderful stay in Kurosawa - a beautiful little town. The Hanadomari was super - the best part was our private onsen next to the river. Awesome!"
"The room was very quiet and like new with extremely comfortable beds. It was exactly what we needed for one night before our flight from Fukuoka, less than one hour away."
"The room looks very run-down and jam packed if travelling in a group of 4. Food quality would be best described as unimpressive considering how much we paid for this accommodation. Onsen is ok but definitely avoid the foot massage machine on 1/F, which was found full of dust and dead skins of other people. Ew!"

"The rooms are very spacious and has all the amenities needed. The private onsen is amazing. We booked half board and was very thankful that they were willing to accommodate our vegetarian diet. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. "
"A peaceful and relaxing simple retreat. Old style ryokan with tatami mats etc. We used the men only onsen and were basically alone in there. It was very clean and hot. Perfect. Also they offered complimentary coffee, tea and ramen cup. They provided everything we needed for using the baths. "
"The hotel had multiple onsen each of different style. Very enjoyable. The view from the room faced forestry, which would be beautiful in autumn when the leaves turned red. The sound on rushing water from the rapids nearby gave a soothing feeling. The service staff coordination was great too, when you arrive or checked out, they will ask for your name or room number, then inform recep or the car assistant to prepare your keys.
Things which were not great
1/ food at the buffet was often cold or like warm, other than soup.
2/ would have been nicer if it were kaiseki"
"Cozy, clean & spacious room with a mini onsen. Pre-check in is advisable. 5 minute walk to Kirin Lake where beautiful scenery & cafes around. 10 minute walk to Yufuin Floral Village & shopping streets. "
"Beautiful, modern, very tastefully decorated property. The front desk attendee was very hospitable, a warm welcome to our first time in Yufuin!
Gems is a minute walk from the station / bus stop, and is located centrally to Yufuin town. The walk to Kinrin lake was beautiful, with views of the mountain on the street.
The room we booked was incredibly spacious, and although designed for 4, did not feel too empty for 2. The bathroom is so well done and so clean, with a huge bath tub that just invites a private soak.
We would stay again next time! "
"Amazing service all around. We were greeted straight away, shown to our room and the available facilities. The ryoken was very peaceful and clean. Dinner was 10/10 and we had lovely onsens to enjoy."
