"Great location and lovely breakfast"

"In desperate need of renovation, at least a replacement of carpet and upholstery. Still the same after 30 years. Our pillows had such a strong odour coming from them that I needed to ask for new pillows. Room smells unpleasant, and so do the carpeted hallways. We booked through Hotels.com and got, what we thought, was one of the worst rooms in the “deluxe “ category. Staff very friendly and good room service. "

"This is a great hotel - well located, a great team, friednly staff and rooms of variable size. I was in a smaller room this stay in the newer part of the hotel, and yet I liked it very much. The old Cambridge Building rooms may be bigger, but this room was neat, compact and great. The rate was also fair and reasonable. The only thing that could lift this would be cleaning - the carpet in my room had not been vacummed - there was dirt and some things from the previous tenant on the floor and the hall definitely had not been cleaned. The bathroom also needed another wipe down. Otherwise, I love this place."

"It is very well kept and run but is very definitely geared toward young people as the preferred clientele. I don't think that's a bad thing, but we felt a little out of place as older adults."

"Stayed at the Rydges because it was close to the train station. Wanted to take the train to the airport but the train were under maintenance on the weekend. We had to take uber the next day. Check in was easy, I was able to get an early check in. The staff didn’t confirm if I had breakfast included and didn’t provide wi-fi access at time of check-in. I had to ask later. The elevators were slow. "

"Slight issue with a leaky shower but staff were super helpful and friendly. Nice and clean. Great location for our purposes as it’s incredibly close to Central station. Definitely will stick with this option over staying nearby Olympic park for future concerts."

"Really well located hotel. Loved the locality easy walk to scg and bus into the city. Staff very friendly and loved having breakfast in the courtyard every morning. Will definitely be back "
