"Nice stay in a large bedroom with imposing bed. Breakfast was fine. Only complaints are paying £10 for car park and charge if you want ice in your room."

"Perfect position and literally only steps away from the Minster. Easy access to the typical York city centre ancient shopping streets. The hotel itself is comfortable and well appointed, and the staff were helpful and charming. The only negative point is the minuscule lift which barely holds two people and a suitcase. Valet parking is an additional bonus"

"This is a quaint old style Bed and Breakfast, without modern amenities There are many stairs to the rooms with multiple landings and no lift. Not suitable for the mobility impaired. The single room I had was small and very hot ( in the eaves and one small skylight), but there was a fan in the room that helped quite a bit. Staff very friendly and a good breakfast. Pleasant enough, even with the stairs. "

"Very good value for money. The staff were helpful and friendly even at busy times. Selby can be a little boisterous on Friday and Saturday nights, but don’t let that put you off. A hearty cooked breakfast is included. You can park right outside, which is a boon. A fine place to stay. "
