In shopping area. It was a weekday so nice and quiet. The room isn't posh but had all we needed and was clean and spacious. Breakfast was lovely served by lovely staff. Would definitely stay again

Though a bit old but feel good and comfortable overall. The breakfast there is delicious. There is a river by the hotel that I can walk my dog too.

Short stay

I don't know what the website says about The George Inn, but I wasn't prepared for the number of steps to my room, 33 in total I think.OK for younger man but I'm in my mid eighties; a word of warning wouldn't go amiss. The room was clean and comfortable, the TV didn't work properly though and the plumbing was noisy. The staff were polite and helpful.

Highly recommend

Beautiful place, very warm and comfortable. Staff were so welcoming and check in and out was easy and effortless. The free breakfast was a huge bonus, felt homely.

Gorgeous George.

Very easy to find, welcoming nice and warm pub. Easy registration. Very comfortable room, lovely breakfast. Will always stay here on our way up North.

Only stayed the one night and served our purpose of passing through on our way to London. Room and beds were clean and tidy and plenty of choice for breakfast that was included in the price. Staff were helpful and would recommend for a quick stay.

Amazing All Round

Best hotel I’ve stayed all year and I stay in hotels 4x per week. The service was great, the food was great. The bed was comfortable. The room was clean. 10/10 overall stay.

Only there 2hrs and a fight broke out chairs were thrown people scared ..Food terrible steak was like shoe leather ..frozen vegatables n instant mash potatoes..breakfast was sausages over cooked rggs practical over cooked to the extent we never went for the 2nd morning breakfast .

Great value

The George is very good value and in a great central spot in Selby. Big room but it is a little tired. Excellent breakfast each morning with lovely cold buffet and hot breakfast to order. The bed was extremely comfortable -one of the best mattresses we've slept on away from home. Our room was directly above the bar though and it is very, very noisy until the bar closes. I don't believe anybody could sleep in there without ear plugs. It was a struggle being in the room in the evening as you cannot quietly rest. All in all though we still think there are many positives and it is fabulous value. Also free parking which is a bonus!

A good honest place to stay

My wife and I were singing at the Abbey. Our room looked straight onto it. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food was ok, and the bar was very busy. Whilst not a cosy bar it was great value. Whilst it doesnt feel classy, it is impossible to fault. The bath was great. It filled quickly and the soaps and lotions were great. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Friendly and breakfast was a nice addition

Friendly welcome on arrival - lady told me instructions and then went through with me a second time patiently whilst I wrote down. Included breakfast was a nice addition and not one I’d usually have for a nights stay at that price! Bread was lovely for the toast and there was everything you could want on the menu too! Friendly face at breakfast serving the tables too Location was good in the evening to have a walk about town

We would stay again but in a different part of the hotel. The room we had was right on the stairs and directly above the pub so was quite noisy especially when I had a small child with me. Next time I ask for a room higher up or further along the corridor. Staff were very friendly and I would recommend it to anyone.

Great George

On arrival I was checked in immediately by an efficient staff member. My room was very clean with the heating kept on during the whole of my stay. My breakfast was ordered & served within ten minutes which was delicious. Overall I was very pleased with my stay & would recommend the pub.
