Waikiki hotel rooms a the Independent

"Waikiki Malia was clean and affordable. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The elevators are a pain in the @$$, though. While we appreciate the convenience of on-site parking, trying to park an SUV was challenging. Also, navigating the tight turns in the parking structure was scary. I’m so surprised we didn’t scratch the car trying to exit. It wasn’t a bad stay at the hotel, just a couple of things that made the stay less than stellar."

"Everything was good about the hotel, except we were given the room right next to the elevators. If you’re a quiet sleeper just make sure you ask for a room far away from elevators, otherwise it’ll be absolutely impossible to sleep. "

"Great place area is surrounded by shops and good restaurants! The place could use a bit of a touch up in the hallways, but nonetheless I would absolutely stay here again."

"Great location and staff were friendly especially Dinah and Jessie. Kind of loud at night when vehicles are driving by. Couch needs shampooing. Other than that everything is good. I will definitely come back and recommend this place."

"The room was reasonably priced and close enough for a walk to waikiki. the onlt issue was the air conditioning as it would work all day and into the evening, but we would wake in the middle of the night and find that it was off. It would self start every morning! "
