"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! It was raining when we arrived and we were able to check in early. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a decent size. The breakfast was excellent. Best of all were the indoor and outdoor onsens, with views of Mt. Fuji.Its located next to the train station and lots of dining options. I highly recommend this hotel."

"If I could give more than 5 stars I would! The staff are so friendly and accommodating! It is a little out of the way but the hotel provides a free shuttle to and from the train station and a free hourly shuttle to the nearby town which is absolutely fabulous. The grounds are just beautiful and the view from the room is honestly better than any other vantage point we could find. Thank you so so much!"

"Stayed at Gora Kadan for one night We arrived in Gora from Tokyo mid morning & spent the time until 3pm check in exploring the area, We had a wonderful stay, looked after extremely well by Shuto who also served our evening meal in our room in true Rokyan style Dinner was outstanding, our dietary requirements were so well taken care of, each dish was exquisite Breakfast was also delicious & served in our room by Shuto Our room was spacious, & had an outdoor private onsen, so relaxing to sit in...

"The architecture and design of the property was very simple and clean and adapted well to its natural surroundings. The room with its bath in the balcony and the attention to details was amazing. The food at the restaurant was a bit bland and could be better. The service was great but the staff need a bit more experience in telling its story of the food and dishes. "Worth every cent paid for the 2 nights stay. Room and sevice was above expectation and keiseki meals were comparable to high end restaurants and a lot of privacy with the option to have it in the room. Strongly recommended!!"

"Loved the hotel but using the hot water in the bathroom was a problem. A lot of water was wasted before it became warm to have a shower. "

"Everything on Fufu Hakone was excellent except the spa and massage. I booked the recommended spa & massage package of 120 minutes costing 20,000 Yen, but was only given the service of 75 minutes including changing time, bathing and sand spa which lasted 25 minutes, the massage was only 50 minutes. I felt I was being short changed after the session and raised question to the massage lady without any acceptable answer. "

"Staff were very kind and respectful. Room was clean and spacious. Room had a gorgeous view of the river and trees. We enjoyed the very authentic traditional Japanese food served at breakfast and dinner. The public onsen is fantastic and the area also includes a sauna and a cold plunge. Be aware that guests with large tattoos are not permitted. Would not recommend the Japanese traditional room for guests over 5’8ft as the doorways are very low. My boyfriend had hit his head numerous times....
