Very friendly staff and went out of the way to help us find last min transport. And very friendly owner who offer an alternative free breakfast to the one in the hotel, to us in the shop she owned as well.

The hotel is clean but the decor is old and tired. The bed was very hard. The breakfast was plentiful with a good range of dishes.

Decent but not fantastic. Very basic chinese breakfast. Spa pool is clean decent, but no temperature sensors to determine how hot the water is.

This hotel is mostly for local Taiwan residents or visitors from the mainland, but that's great, if you are patient in dealing with the language barrier. The staff was really great ... extremely patient and always ready to help. The surrounding area is mostly indigenous Taiwanese, but this is not an area with many Western tourists. We didn't see any. The local Bunon people are great and the area is amazingly beautiful. Recommend the hike to Rainbow Falls, but be advised it is very, very steep. The trail is wide and well-surfaced, but can be aerobically challenging. The only problems with the room is that there is no shower, only a tub, and there were some exposed wires in the bedroom. It's safe for adults, but I wouldn't want children to pull them. Did not seem to be a fire hazard, but likely doesn't meet the electrical code. The hotel has a downstairs "spa" with water piped in from the Dong-Pu hot springs, like most of the other nearby hotels, but I did not see the spa so don't know what the conditions were.
My room overlooking the village's central area provided interesting views into local life. Breakfast was available at the hotel's modest restaurant across the street. Helpful staff showed me the ingredients so I could build my own breakfast since I could not complete their Chinese language menu. The bathroom had its own onsen tub, so I did not use the spa.
The worst part of the stay was the bed…it was rock hard. Also, shower head is far too low and now shower curtain makes for difficult time and water everywhere. Otherwise, not a bad place to stay.
A very underrated unique tourist destination tucked away deeply into the mountainous area of Taiwan. Natural beauty of the surrounding is breathtaking. The hotel offers a very comfortable clean room with a big ensuite hot spring bath tub for a total relaxation and stress relieving experience. There is a public balcony high up overlooking the valley below offering the best views of sunrise. The antique furnishings were incredible and the innkeeper was a very helpful lady.
This could be a big risk if someone falls down. Bathroom binder is bent and cannot close. And the room is really dirty. Checked in at 4:00pm and was told the public spa won't be open until 7:00pm because of cleaning.
