We stayed one night, were thrilled to have found the Grousemoor County House BB. The facilities were top notch, staff so friendly and helpful and the décor (recently refurbished) was welcoming, warm and beautifully done.
We attended an afternoon reception at the Grousemoor and the food was excellent and service exemplary.
This BB delivers the standard we would all love but rarely get. I would highly recommend the Grousemoor to my family and friends.

I can’t praise this hotel enough I’ve stayed all over the world in some fabulous hotels but this was outstanding.
From the moment we arrived our host Pam made us more than welcome even allowing us to take part in their Burns night that they had on that evening .
If you’re visiting this area and are lucky enough to get a room this has got to be the best place to stay .
Absolutely faultless stay in this hotel. We stayed in Deer - the dog friendly room. The staff were lovely and welcoming, Pam was brilliant and makes a mean cooked breakfast. Loved the relaxed vibe of the place. View from our room was stunning (and will be even better as the landscaping takes shape at the back of the hotel). Food was delicious - think elevated home cooking - clearly made with love and care and always served piping hot and without any wait. Breakfasts were exceptional as mentioned above. Lovely size room with views of the valley and forest from the bed. Great walk in shower. The attention to detail is the real difference between good and great though. The small stuff has really been thought about. There are power sockets on both sides of the bed (ideal for charging phones), both sides of the bed had cooled bottled water and a glass, fresh milk in the fridge for tea and coffee - all small things that add up to a bit difference. We’ll be back!
We loved our stay here. The property has been beautifully renovated and is a lovely place to be. The breakfast was delicious and all the staff were welcoming and friendly. Highly recommended.
This was our second stay at The Grousemoor and again could not be faulted. The owners, Pam and Richard were excellent hosts and most welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. There is plenty of choice at breakfast and the full English/Welsh is freshly cooked from order. The cleanliness is second to none and all furnishings are of a very high standard. There is plenty of parking and also high speed wifi. Most definitely will return again when visiting family in Llandegla.
We had our wedding dinner at Willington lodge last year and Pam & Richard asked us to visit them at the Grousemoor. And from the moment we walked in, it felt like coming home. The interior is absolutely beautiful, extremely warm welcome, presecco on tap, menu to choose from, spacious yet homely. We stayed in the partridge suite and it was stunning, bed was comfy, bathroom huge, lovely view, and all the little extras added. Breakfast was amazing, home cooked food and delivered hot. All the staff were amazing, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Only disappointment was Winston wasn’t there, their adorable black lab
Beautiful setting and suite which was perfect for our family. Excellent facilities and super friendly hosts. One of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had!!
We had a most pleasant stay at Grousemoor Lodge, before joining a canal boat down the Llangollen Canal. We - my wife, Jane, our boxer dog, Bruce, and I - were made most welcome. We will definitely stay again if we are in the vicinity.
Excellent 5 star B&B. The owner Pam was very friendly, the breakfast was excellent .
All the rooms were beautiful, comfortable with lovely toiletries. There was an in house bar for evening drinks and plenty of parking. Would definitely recommend it
Great hotel with friendly welcoming staff. Hotel has recently been refurbished to a great standard, the bedroom and bathroom were of a very high standard, water pressure was very good. Fantastic WiFi. Evening meals not surved some evenings, worth checking in advance. It was a warm evening and the road was a little noisy when I had the windows open in the room. Would stay there again.
Was travelling from West Yorkshire to North Wales and needed something in the middle to break up the journey for the night.
Found this little gem and was truly impressed as soon as we parked up. As soon as we walked through the front door, we were greeted by Pamela, one of the Owners with a warm smile. She was going to ring us to ensure we were OK, as we didn't arrive til 9.30pm.
Sure quickly showed us to our room, the Partridge which was a free upgrade. The room was very tastefully decorated, well equipped with drinks, big stand alone bath, double shower and double sinks aswell. Everything was ever so clean. There were lots of different lighting in the room just like a hotel, as usually I find the ceiling lights are a bit dim. The decor was to a very high standard.
We ordered our breakfast the night before which meant the breakfast came very prompt when we went down the next morning. Very well organised! The variety of breakfast offered was very good, I opted for the mushrooms, poached eggs on granary toast, and my other half went for the scrambled eggs on a muffin with smoked salmon. Portion sizes were very generous and we went away pretty full.
Overall, I would highly recommend this gem of a place!
Absolutely stunning venue that is only made all the better by the fantastic family that run it, they genuinely look after your every need from the minute you arrive.
The beds are huge, I'm 6ft 4 and 17 stone and I felt lost in it. They are impeccably presented and the room was unbelievably clean with a brand new 42 inch smart tv on the wall.
The breakfast is a fantastic way to start your day and is cooked fresh for you so none of that dried out rubbish here.
The location is fantastic for One Planet Adventure MTB courses and the lovely town of Llangolen is only a short drive away.
We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay and will most certainly be returning very soon.
It was a fantastic stay!
The Grousemoor was absolutely fantastic, it has everything you need for a short stay for leisure or business. The room which i had with the shared kitchen as well was excellent, all the facilities you could ask for and the decor is fantastic.
It has been beautifully put together, it has a warm and friendly atmosphere and I would definitely recommend it.
Really enjoyed our stay at the Grouse Moor Country House. We were made very welcome. The breakfast was excellent and the rooms really comfortable and beautifully decorated. Well worth a visit.
