"Everything about our stay was great, and we really enjoyed it. My only comment is regarding the information on Expedia, which states that pets stay free and parking is free. This wasn’t the case — the hotel charges £50 per day for a dog and £40 per day for parking. I’m not sure whether the incorrect information is coming from Expedia or the hotel, but I would recommend checking directly with the hotel rather than relying on the Expedia listing, as these are significant additional costs."

"Self check-in and pre arrival info was helpful and efficient. The room was nicely furnished and comfortable but quite small. Room 3 was on the second floor, so a climb up two and a half flights of narrow stairs. The room was well kept and serviced and the breakfast tray was appreciated. The small bathroom however, meant a small washbasin which was barely able to accommodate (part-filling) the kettle."

"A very quaint period public house. Our room was quite small but definitely adequate for our 2 night stay. Obviously to be expected with a quaint period public house. The bar was well stocked and plenty of room at the bar, surrounding tables and restaurant. The staff were very knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. Overall a very pleasurable stay and my wife is already planning to revisit with a friend. The 8 Bells is a perfect location to walk to the Bolney wine vineyard and neighbouring brandy centre."

"Had a fantastic stay at Clifton House from arrival to departure all perfect for our visit to Brighton. Was easy to find tge property and only a 10 minute stroll from Portslade railway station and 9 minutes by rail from Brighton station. Instructions to receive our key and entry door were very clear and in good time for our stay and the room was spacious and very clean with all the amenities we could have wished for including a small fridge which was really useful especially on a hot day, a fan and plenty of electric sockets for charging phones and tablets. The bed was possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept on whilst away from home and had a really good nights sleep which was also heped by the quietness of the room and surrounding area. Any reservations held initially about using a shared bathroom were quickly dispelled as the bathroom and shower were really clean and spacious also. Although we used public transport there was parking immediately outside the property and on the road also. All in all a great experience and would definately return for another stay to this property."

"Good location for exploring the area - very close to bus stops and a free car park a few mins away. About a 25 minute walk into Shoreham centre. Host was very responsive and helpful - we had a few issues with the TV/wifi but he was able to assist. Property is clean and pleasant for a short stay. We would stay here again."
