"Overpriced and lacked a 5-star experience
We stayed here for two days, and for a very expensive hotel, it really doesn't deserve its 5-star status in my opinion. At other hotels, we have always received a much warmer welcome, usually with a complimentary drink and plenty of local information about the surrounding area. Here at the Flamingo, it felt completely impersonal—they clearly don't value the customer experience and it felt more like a conveyor-belt system.
The rooms themselves were clean and spacious, but there was no walk-in shower—just a bathtub with a shower head. To make matters worse, there was no shower curtain, so it was impossible to wash without completely soaking the bathroom floor, which made absolutely no sense.
While the gym was decent, I think it is incredibly unfair and greedy that the spa and sauna aren't included in the steep price. On the positive side, breakfast was nice and offered a good selection. However, the atmosphere of the resort was terrible; it felt like a ghost town, very boring and completely devoid of any life. I certainly wouldn’t stay here again on a visit to Cat Ba."
