Top Upper Waterton Lake Hotel Reviews
Waterton Lakes Lodge Resort
8/10 Good
"PROS: - Location fantastic, close to downtown and walkable everywhere - Friendly, helpful staff - pleasant-looking lobby and restaurant - Easy check in - Ample parking - Quiet stay - Comfortable king-sized bed - Staff provided extra pillows, which were new - high definition TV screen - the Vimy onsite restaurant was excellent and has the best breakfast in town CONS: - Building and room (in building 1700) is in desperate need of upgrading/renovation/regular maintenance, as it was very dated and worn - entrance to the building had sour, musty smell - carpeting needs to be replaced in the entire building and in the room as it was very worn out and musty smelling - shower drain and sink drain both needed to be unclogged - lighting was insufficient in the bathroom and the fixtures were dated OVERALL: Didn’t think the room was worth the price, as the facilities were very worn down and dated."
Prince of Wales Hotel

"Wonderful experience staying in such a historic hotel. Although historic, the bathroom was recently renovated. The elevator is remarkable for being the oldest operating elevator in North America, meaning that you should probably take the stairs. The food in the restaurant was excellent."
Waterton Glacier Suites

"Very clean and comfortable, staff always checking if you need anything!"
Bayshore Inn & Spa

"We were in an upstairs room with no elevator so we were concerned about toting our heavy luggage up to the room. There was no need for concern as the office staff were quick to help and willingly carried our cases up the stairs to our room. We had the same experience when we left. We phoned the main desk when we were ready to leave - a young man arrived almost immediately and not only took our heavy luggage downstairs but loaded the suitcases into our car. (Two older travelers.)"
Crandell Mountain Lodge

"This place is perfectly located in town. It has easy parking and you can easily walk into town. However, the property is a little old and is dark. I like a light airy room, so I don't love the darkness of the room. We jad the Bear den and there's is a big bath tub in the corner of the room. I think that corner could be more useful as a small kitchenette instead."
Northland Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"I loved the place, so unique, our room had 2 beds, and a private bath. There was a common area where people could mingle, Stacie had muffins, coffee and juice to start the morning whole people chitchated about what they did the day before and what they are doing that day. So fun!!"
Kilmorey Lodge
10/10 Excellent
"Overall, we were very happy with the stay. Beautiful views from the lakeview unit and the staff were very friendly. The property is for the most part clean and well maintained, however it was obvious no staff had checked out the balcony in a while. One of the balcony chairs was nearly falling apart and the balcony hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. Otherwise, great stay."
Hooks Hideaway Motel
8/10 Good
"The room was adequate for our short stay. We would have enjoyed having a microwave in our room -- however, the shared one provided in the hallway was very clean. Another recommendation would be to change the hard wood bed frames which sit flat on the floor. The sharp, corners of the frame stuck past the mattress and were a constant toe-stubbing obstacle especially at night due to their dark brown color and unexpected location at toe-level. Ouch!! We enjoyed the rodeo show viewable from the property and the hotel's convenient location near Many Glacier and Waterton National Park (Canada)."
Many Glacier Hotel - Inside the Park
8/10 Good
"Stayed here for 2 nights in July with family. Positives: Gorgeous setting. Swiss-like esthetics. Loved that you could walk to the trails and not worry about finding parking before beginning our hike(s). Ate at the lounge restaurant and it was very good. Also thrilled to have a coffee shop, snack shop available. If able to, go to dinner one night at the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn restaurant (just a couple minutes away driving) then walk down to Fishcap Lake (nicknamed Moose Lake). It’s about a 5-10 min easy walk. We visited this lake 3 times and saw moose 2 of those times. When visiting after dinner around 7, it was like the animals were paid actors. Deer all around, birds, beaver swimming, and a huge, bull moose. One of the highlights of the trip! Negatives: a small hike is necessary to get to the parking lot. There is not dedicated guest parking, so during the day the lot fills fast due to others not staying at Many Glacier wanting to use the easily accessible trails. During the day, it is hard to find parking. It was not a problem when we left for dinner and returned in the evening. Our room had a balcony but the bench and floorboards were covered in bird poop so not really usable. Shower was tiny and room definitely was warm for sleeping with no AC (but expected—it is July at a national park lodge, afterall)"
