    "It is a great place in great location however the hotel is tired especially for a very expensive terrace room. It is stuck in a time warp and worn out - bed, chairs carpets. The staff in the bars were very slow and poor, particularly at the poolside bar. The addition of a shuttle bus up the hill is great unless 8 Americans want to pile in as well and were abbusive to us and the driver. For 400 euros a night I also expected breakfast!!"

More bombs were dropped here in a single month than were dropped in London during all of WWII. Recently opened to the public, the underground Lascaris War Rooms played considerably into the changing tides of WWII – the success of Operation Husky (invasion of Sicily) represented the first steps for the Allies in taking the European mainland.
