"The Desoto is towards the north end of Tybee away from the pier. It is quieter and less crowded usually. The hotel room was very nice. They pillows and bed was very comfortable. It looked as though it had been remodeled in recent years. We walked and rode bikes everywhere."

"I highly recommend this place if you want to stay on Tybee Island. It is right in the middle of shopping and restaurants and only one block to the beach. The staff is super friendly and the room was very clean. Yes it is an older hotel, but it has been completely renovated, so it feels new. Parking was super easy. "Our initial room assignment was dirty and had a fist-punch mark on the wall next to the sink. I don't think it was supposed to be rented out. You could tell it hadn't been cleaned in a while. We discussed it with the manager and was promptly moved to an upgraded, very clean, room with a kitchenette. That room was very nice.
