"Filthy and disgusting. I would not recommend this property to anyone. Smells like damp mouldy cheese that we later found out to be the drip tray behind the fridge. It was liquid and mouldy. The toilet seat was loose and wouldn't tighten. The skirting boards were dirty and dusty. We found a mouldy sponge under the kitchen cupboard. No toilet roll. No hand wash. Mouldy bathroom. Dirty toilet. Bins hadn't been emptied. Dead woodlice in the bedroom on the floor. Dirty on top of the fridge. Brown bug...

"For some reason, we were upgraded from a standard double to a suite with a four poster bed which was a lovely surprise. The rooms are not serviced if your stay is 3 nights or less but you can place rubbish, used towels and toiletries outside your door and they will be removed and replaced. There was a large choice at breakfast including pastries, toast, cereal and cooked items all served buffet style so something for everyone. We went out each day and evening so did not have lunch or evening...

"The room was ideal. It was comfortable, had a bath and shower that were easy to operate. There was a generous supply of teas and coffee. The cosy lounges downstairs were lovely. "The room was clesn and comfortable, housekeeping staff were very helpful especially helpful with my wife who was a bit off colour. The general quslity of catering was better than our last. Our last day breakfadt was goid however consistency needs to be maintained. Front of house staff work very hard, especially Nial, & Jenny. As a former auditor i would suggest a visit by a snag fixer and this place would be cracking. Small changes, massive differences."

Comfortable stay
"We had a comfortable stay. Room was nice, especially the soft furnishings. A few minor niggles. Some of the public areas were a bit shabby (it’s an old building) and there was apparently a problem with the drains at the bar toilets. Service was good - very friendly and attentive. Food was decent and good value (especially curry night). Breakfast a bonus with a choice on offer. Vegan and vegetarian no problem at all. We had been before years ago and would stay again."
