Things to do in Northern Norway

Honningsvåg Port is the gateway to Norway’s northernmost city and the famous North Cape. The port is just a short walk from the main street of Honningsvåg, where you will find restaurants serving seafood straight from the icy Arctic Ocean. North Cape features a tourist center that is open year-round, with exhibits examining the region’s ecology and North Cape as a traveler destination.

Bleik Beach curves gently around a picturesque bay set toward the northern tip of the island of Andoy. It is a great place for tranquil walks, photography, wildlife spotting and getting lost in your own thoughts amid the majestic beauty of Norway’s Artic Circle.

Learn about the ecology of the Arctic from a number of educational displays at Polaria. See bearded seals swimming in a large tank and view an exhibit about clams being used by researchers to identify changes in the arctic marine ecosystem. This aquarium has been designed as a resource to educate visitors on the region’s marine life and the effect of climate change on the Arctic.
