"4 minute walk to bus stop then 10 minute ride to town. Bus runs every 10 min during peek times. Convenient having washer in room and supermarket downstairs. Could use more than 2 towels for 2 people. Also, didn’t notice there was no tv. Which wasn’t a big deal except I like noise to go to sleep. "
"I gave 4 stars because everyone was really nice, but the property itself is a little deceiving. (Not deceptive, I am not trying to indicate malice.) But for American travelers in particular, it's worth noting that this is really a campground. When you pull in the property, there are RVs situated & plugged in & the lodges themselves are in need of a little updating.
The main building is convenient & the staff there could NOT have been more helpful. Everyone super nice. Our travel plans got a little hung up & they were great working with me on late check in & making sure we got situated.
But the lodge was a little smaller than expected & a little outdated. In the end, the stay ended up being fine - we opted for 2br with bunkbeds - and everyone had sleeping space. (Family of 4.) But it is definitely more cramped than the pictures indicate, so just beware the space is tight & the bathroom was really small, even by European standards. Our shower was in need of a little update & we did run out of hot water one day.
My main "complaint," if I had one, is that it's sort of billed as a place where you can get exposed to a little nature. Now, it does back up to a beautiful mountain. We enjoyed that. But the property is basically in a mixed use area, not exactly rural. So there is tons of light & high occupancy, meaning you really need to get away from that area to have any sort of views.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. Other folks there very nice, too, & convenient for tours etc."
"Very disappointing that the hot tub was broken and had not been used for weeks. There was no attempt to fix it.
When we arrived the main light in our room didn’t work and the kettle was also broken.
However the location of the Hotel was perfect. Very central, with lovely views of the harbour. The breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals were great and included in the price."
"Beautiful hotel, great amenities and polite staff. A shame that sauna was not included in the cost and very disappointed to see whale meat on the menu."
"Great location on the water while also in the city center. Breakfast was also good with many choices of food and beverage. Always seemed full with guests which also meant that check in was not until mid to late afternoon as they noted on their site. "
