"Even during the last days of construction, the hotel was comfortable, like a classic hotel should be. Staff was personable and very attentive. My family was in Ottawa for a memorial, and we were all booked onto the same floor, and each room had a personal note of condolence, chocolates and fresh flowers. We were all very moved and very impressed by this thoughtfulness. Bartenders, waiters, bellhops and front desk staff really paid us attention, and made us feel very welcome. The remodeling is turning out very nice, too!"

"Oh where to begin. The first morning my coffee maker didn't work. Someone came up to replace it and the second one didn't work. He brought the third one, a different kind, and because he spoke no english, although he was a lovely gentleman, he couldn't explain how to use it. I finally got it to work on the second morning, although it wasn't very good. On my last full day, I came back after a long emotional event and asked whether there would be any food available for dinner because the dining room was closed. I was told the roof top bar would have some appies. They didn't - only chips and dip or nuts or pretzels. They had no idea that the front of house staff had said they would have food. So I had chips and dip for dinner. I really didn't want to leave the hotel. Not very impressed at all! The room was large and lovely, though. And the staff was good. But I would never stay there again!"
