All the little extra touches - such as bathrobes and slippers. daily complimentary water, chocolate etc - were truly the icing on the cake. The restaurant was superb with a jaw-dropping view of the Castle and sumptuous breakfast. If you think I seem enthusiastic it is because I am!"

"Location good for getting out and about with a car. The room we had was okay - not as good as the one on the websites, but we got a good deal so can’t complain. Unfortunately, it was in a ground floor block of four or five with no blinds, and other guests walked right by our window so we had to keep the dark brown (blackout) curtains closed for privacy. Couldn’t even have a cup of tea in bed without being seen! Such a shame when it was sunny outside. Hot water in the bathroom took forever to warm up and was barely more than a trickle. We got used to it but rather frustrating. Staff were friendly. Bed was firm but comfortable enough. Clean, apart from dust/crumbs etc. under the counter-top fridge. Generally ok for what we paid but wouldn’t have been happy to pay top dollar for it."

The room was spotless and so many thoughtful extra touches were provided. The following morning the breakfast was excellent and plentiful. I met more of the staff and again they were so friendly. "Kate our host greeted me on arrival. Sandhurst Farm Forge is in an ideal location for visiting friends and family in the area and also ideal if you are looking for a quiet retreat. Kate provides the most amazing Welcome Pack - with tea, coffee, sugar, milk etc and lots of goodies for breakfast the next morning, including sausages and bacon from the local butcher. If you are keen to walk the country lanes then just take Seed Road down the long, not steep, hill to Newnham where you will find The George Inn. Please bear in mind the lanes are narrow and there are no footpaths or street lights on this road. I don't know if there are shops in the village or if it is easy to get a takeaway as I didn't need either. Sandhurst Farm Forge is very well equipped with a huge kitchen and everything that you could possibly need for a short stay. There is a kitchen table that seats up to six people. There is a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and separate freezer. The bathroom with a walk in shower and gorgeous big bath all look brand new! The bedroom has blinds and curtains so I was easily able to block out the light, which afforded a great night's sleep and so peaceful too. There is a large sitting room for relaxing in with two sofas and a television on the wall. Thank you so much Kate for the warm welcome and your hospitality. I hope to return very soon. Tina"

"We absolutely loved our stay at the Honey Pod. Communication and instructions before arrival were wonderful and made everything so easy. The space itself is compact but has everything you need — a cozy kitchen/lounge area, comfortable bedroom, and clean bathroom. The wood burner hot tub in the garden was such a treat, perfect for relaxing under the stars. It’s beautifully secluded and feels like you’re tucked away in the middle of nowhere — peaceful, quiet, and magical. Highly recommend for anyone looking to unwind and escape! "
