"Excellent location for those without a car. Situated alongside the Ryde public transport hub which includes train, bus & hovercraft options. A once very elegant hotel now perhaps a little tired but still full of charm. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was beautifully cooked traditional English fare."

"The windows were thick with grey stuff, which I assume to be mould. there was no expelair in the bathroom and you couldn't open the window. The double room was cramped - narrow space up the side of the bed and no bedside tables. There was a rude sign outside the breakfast area: No (double underlined) admission before 8.30. On our first day the door to this was locked because the chef was late. On the good side, the owners have made an effort with some of the decor and also with producing good food. At breakfast, however there are only coffee bags and the breakfast table had 4 croissants (for 4 double rooms). The chef did not offer bread or toast, but brought it if asked. "

"Lovely staff. Room was upgraded by them even though not their fault we arrived late (ferry). Only problem was that the cleaners were not notified of the change & came into our room when we were there. "

"The rooms where perfect and clean. The bar staff where friendly and helpful. I only marked it down to 3 stars as the booking stated they had a restaurant and didn't. "

"Lovely place but we visited at the coldest time of the year and the heating could have been much more powerful. An EV charger or two would have been very helpful here but I think perhaps I’m asking a bit too much here. "
