"The staff were so helpful and pleasant. We checked in early, the room was lively and clean, the water hot, the bed so comfortable! East to get to the city. Would stay here again!"

"I stayed for one night. The clean was poor specially the sink. No shower gel was provided, so it was good that I brought mine. The room was for 2 adults and one child, and I only had 2 towels. The worst part of all was the smelly of smoke and weed. It was so strong that it was like someone had smoked in the room. I had to open the window to be able to sleep."

DO NOT ask for a taxi, they organised a cab from central Reading that charged £40 for a 2 mile 10 minute journey at 3:30 in the afternoon!! Totally shocked at this."

"The Ferryman's Cottage have cute rooms, which have both heating and cooling if required. We had to keep blinds closed as the pub guests walk past our windows. The bed was comfy and the nespresso machine was very much appreciated. The only drawback is the sound. When other guests are going to their rooms it sounds like they are literally in the same room. We could hear people taking in the room above, but with earplugs all was well. They weren't noisy. The food had been talked up and we had high expectations for dinner, but honestly it was absolutely fine, nothing to write home about. Highlight was mackerel patented starter- that was delicious. Breakfast debacle - we had booked for 8am, and were told when we ordered that the chef had slept in and hadn't arrived (in ataff house next door). Even though he turned up at 8.30 we still didnt get our breakfast till after 9am. A bit outrageous to wait that long for eggs on toast. The waitress was very apologetic and took the breakfast off our bill, but I thought it was poor form for the chef to put her in that position, pretty awful for her to constantly apologise for him."

"I was a bit confused about this property. The welcoming sign still says The Plough Inn, whereas the booking says AbingPlough. It seems a bit of a mish-mash shambles to be honest. But the beds were clean and comfortable. The young woman who looked after us was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was probably a 6/10. Even though we'd pre-ordered items they weren't correct and some were cold. Highly recommend the nearby Barley Mow for dinner. Very good. I think it serves breakfast on some days too. Overall it was fine for the price, and the small village is picture perfect. Just bring earplugs so guests coming and going to other rooms (all off the same small corridor) don't wake you."

"The staff were very welcoming and polite. There is ample parking. We stayed in a suite which was spacious, clean and had good amenities. There is a good sized swimming pool which has allocated children hours. There was a good selection at breakfast and you can also order off a menu too. The restaurant also provided a good selection for dinner. The hotel is in a good location and a short uber ride from Oxford city centre. "
