We love staying at the Amora when we travel to Brisbane. Unfortunately this time the service and staff weren't up to the 4 star rating. We asked for a blanket for our child after trying to ring concierge, housekeeping, room service at 9.30pm and no answer. We had to walk to reception and waited to talk to someone to still not receive the blanket until we spoke to the cleaners the next morning and they were very helpful!!
The next night we were at the bar and ordered drinks, it took 45mins for 1 cocktail!!!
There was only 1 bar staff preparing drinks for approx 30 people and it still took way too long!! When we asked how long it might be we were offered some more drinks and they were apologetic, but the drinks we ordered (cider) was out of date, flat and was told it was the last one they had in the cellar so was warm and they gave me a glass of ice to cool it down.
Eventually, when the cocktail I ordered arrived, it was missing the main ingredient that was in the menu. I questioned it and all they did was apologise and in their words - " you are right the drink doesnt have sheepdog in it". So that was 2 drinks that were not drinkable.
Our party of 4 left extremely disappointed.
We are not sure we will be back next year. Its very disappointing for a hotel that states they are a 4 star hotel..
